These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Detours iOS application ("App") provided by Pixel & Parse LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using Detours, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

Detours provides real-time California Highway Patrol incident information sourced from publicly available CHP CAD data. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.

Do not interact with the App while operating a vehicle. Always obey applicable distracted-driving and hands-free laws. Detours is designed to be checked before you drive — not while driving.

You agree not to:

2. Accuracy of Incident Data

Detours displays incident information sourced from the California Highway Patrol CAD feed. Detours displays a filtered selection of incidents and does not show every event in the CHP log — the absence of an incident in Detours does not mean no incident exists. This data is provided for general informational purposes only. It may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on Detours for emergency response, navigation decisions, or safety-critical purposes. Always follow official instructions from law enforcement and emergency services.

Detours displays caution indicators (such as "Lanes Blocked" or "Hazard in Roadway") derived automatically from CHP dispatch text. Detours does not affirmatively report that lanes are open, and the absence of a caution indicator does not mean lanes are open or that conditions are safe. Indicators showing an incident as resolved reflect only that the incident has been removed from CHP's public log.

We make no representations or warranties about the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or reliability of any incident data displayed in the App. Incident information may not reflect current road conditions.

3. Push Notifications and Alerts

Detours can send push notifications about nearby incidents based on your preferences. Notification delivery depends on your device settings, network connectivity, and Apple's Push Notification service. We do not guarantee that all relevant incidents will generate a notification, or that notifications will be delivered within any specific time frame.

Notifications are informational only. Do not use push alerts to make driving decisions while operating a vehicle.

4. AI-Generated Summaries

This feature has been removed. AI-generated summaries are no longer available in Detours as of July 14, 2026. This section is retained for version history purposes only.

5. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Certain features of Detours require a Pro subscription, available via in-app purchase through the Apple App Store. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal policies are governed by Apple's App Store terms and your agreement with Apple.

6. Apple App Store — Required Terms

These Terms are entered into between you and Pixel & Parse LLC only — not with Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for Detours or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, warranty, or indemnification for the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App and any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure of the App to conform to any warranty will be the sole responsibility of Pixel & Parse LLC.

Product Claims. Pixel & Parse LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, Pixel & Parse LLC, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of any such claim.

Legal Compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Third-Party Terms of Agreement. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App — for example, your wireless data service agreement, if your use of the App relies on cellular data.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Developer Name and Address. Questions, complaints, or claims regarding the App should be directed to: Pixel & Parse LLC, contact@pixel-parse.com.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Pixel & Parse LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. No other rights are granted.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PIXEL & PARSE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services including Apple APNs, Railway, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, Sentry, and TelemetryDeck. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of any third-party service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App or our backend services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
